It's been a while since I've had to call upon TOU and now I am having a heck of a time finding out where to do this. I've even sent off a message to Tribe help twice and gotten no reply. I've had a few trollers and spammers showing up on more than two of my tribes and I'd like to report them.
Little help?

Re: Okay....TOU
Wed, October 10, 2007 - 10:50 AMI'd do the abuse@tribe.net
Wendy Bean is usually the one who responds to these. And she does it quickly.
FYI - if a member joins your tribe - public, private, moderated - doesn't matter. And you remove said member and ask them to not return and they do return, this can be grounds for loss of tribe membership.
So, along with reporting it - I would give them the boot and save the message that you send to them telling them to not return. Don't delete their spam thread/post. This is a record that tribe can track.
Good Luck and let us know what happens. -

Re: Okay....TOU
Wed, October 10, 2007 - 12:31 PMThanks guys.
So the strongest issue currently is the ubiquitous GodSpam that has been showing up. One person hit two tribes that I moderate and several that I am a member of.
As for not deleting the thread, I had an issue where someone sent me an abusive and threatening PM, but they deleted their thread since they were the authors. I would guess that the thread would still exist on the server for a short period of time, at least that's how it worked when I ran a BBS back in the cyberday.

Re: Okay....TOU
Wed, October 10, 2007 - 4:29 PMThe biblical postings are indeed getting tiresome. But in tribes of which I'm a member where it happens, we just openly mock them. -

Re: Okay....TOU
Wed, October 10, 2007 - 5:40 PMRight, but most soapbox people don't care, it only encourages them to post more. -

Our Jesus thread got 78 replies and it was a good thread .... but the TOU guy deleted the initial post... Bit disappointed.. WE had dealt with is and resolved to delete the next one.. but that the original one would say... TOU has imposed something else. (Within their rights.. but still I would have liked to see the post stay on the principal that it was not offensive.. )

Re: Okay....TOU
Wed, October 10, 2007 - 8:21 PMOh I think that was a great way to turn it to the theme of the tribe. Let me give you an example of what I did.

Since I try to leave the forum open for others to chime in on how I react to such posts, I think I am acting in a fashion that is what everyone in that tribe wants. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.

Wed, October 10, 2007 - 8:38 PMSure, though I think we both did it right, the response just depends on the theme of the tribe eh?
