I tried to moderate my tribe, and when I clicked to delete a troll, it told me my tribe couldn't be found.

definition of a troll
Tue, August 11, 2009 - 4:00 AMdear all,
having been and still regularly accused of being a troll ( invariably for holding an opposing view or wishing to probe more deeply into a subject) I decided to see what I could find in this forum.
It appears the only obvious reference is within this old thread, concerned more with silencing rather than defining a troll. however the issue of what a troll is was raised and didn't seem to generate any thing tangible..
In my own opinion trolls are persons who offer nothing to the thread and their posts generally contain no content but some sort of childish remark regarding their level of interest .. i.e. "I'm bored"... "yawn"... etc, offerr a piece of advice like "go take a long walk off a short pier" or resort to insults.
Invariably the person offering this pointless posts are regular contributors who invariably lecture like self appointed experts of truth and who similarly have some kind of rapport with the moderator... so that their transgressions are ignored whilst anyone who holds a different view or value system is immediately labelled a troll.
I find this and the apparent lack of definition akin to Mccathyism... labelling any and all descent as 'unpatriotic' or as is the case with tribe, violating the CoC or TOU and calling the individual a troll.... (perhaps because communist is too many syllables ?)
so can any one define what is troll from opposing view.. or am I too believe that as with much on tribe, definitions are too easily left open to individual interpretations and we enter the world of Humpty Dumpty where a thing is a what I say it to be?
Regards
