As a Moderator... it would be nice to do some major spring cleaning and delete a lot of old posts.. As best I can tell, right now you have to delete one post at a time. It might be nice if every post had a check box and the moderator could go through and check the ones that should be deleted and multiple posts could be deleted at the same time. Or is there a way to delete multiple posts and I am just not aware of it?

We didn't want to make it *too* easy for people to wipe out old discussions.
Requiring moderators to browse discussion threads before deleting them strikes me as a sensible policy. Otherwise, a mod might simply just select the oldest threads for removal, not realizing that there's useful information to be found there. -

Tue, March 23, 2004 - 10:54 AMand deleting individual posts? is that on the schedule for rollout any time soon? i ask because, in the anti-oppression tribe that i mod, one of the community guidelines specifies that hate speech will be deleted. which means that i would have to delete the whole thread and repost all the rest of the non-offending posts to be fair. yikes! i'm glad it hasn't happened yet, but it has come damn close.
any thoughts on that change happening? and also on the moderator being given more control as to who joins the tribe? and banning? some 'safe space' type tribes seem to need these functions. or at least i think they do. does that make me a facsist?

But deleting individual posts would be nice. Mainly for the double post problems.
I feel like I have great moderation skills since I never seem to have problems with offensive/annoying people. Not that others are bad moderators. But its weird to me when people complain about tribers infiltrating about. I've never had that problem. -

Tue, March 23, 2004 - 11:43 AMwell, one thing about population control- as a moderator of a few private tribes, i would like the ability to allow/disallow members to invite others rather than have members always able to invite. this would allow me total control over who comes in instead of having to deal with fallout later with someone i did not intend to be there in the first place.
as far as single post deletion - this is most desired. yes. sooner than later.
would also like archive function where old posts (and photos) could be tucked into a folder style archive rather than outright deletion.

I have been victim to being booted off of tribes myself, for replies made in defense of myself.....when the other guy should have been booted...its the moderator perogotive, but it can create bad blood if moderators are forced to delete the poster instead of the post...

I cant see what tribes you moderate - but I do not like posts being deleted from Tribes I am a member of..
