Threads deleting threads

I don't understand why when I post two different threads the latter deletes and replaces the former with itself? It's been doing it for years.
It is so annoying! I have lost so many great threads. Sometimes, I post one thread, from a subscription email, then delete it from my inbox, then post another, absolutely different one, but in the same tribe, just to find out that it replaced the first one with itself; but that first one is gone by then, and I can't repost it. Including in my own tribe(!).
I did a trick with signing out after the first post, signing back in and posting another. It seemd to have worked so far, (though it shouldn't be this way), but today even that stopped working.
Did anybody ever have this problem? If yes, how did you fix it?
...

(I do have "Check for newer versions of stored pages" checked as "Never", in the Tools of my browser. But it shouldn't have any effect on that...)

Knowing how that page works, I bet it *does* affect it. Why not uncheck that and see if it changes anything.

There's an ID encoded in the post page, and that ID is used to prevent double-posting the same thing. Since you're not getting a new copy of the page, you're overwriting the old thread with the new one.

Those are my thoughts exactly, Patti. Thanks. :)
That's why I mentioned it, too.

I believe I did try it once, a couple of years ago, and cannot recall the result, to be honest, but since I went back to it, that most probably didn't work. I had different versions of IE back then. Now, I have IE 8.
I began doing it because I kept loosing my composed emails, messages, etc. . I had times when I could type a long message, or a reply, and after an unsuccessful submitting, I clicked the back arrow, and couldn't go back to the same previous window with my message still typed - it wiped out, at times, hours(!) of my work. I bet everyone knows that feeling.
So, to help save it, (and my sanity :) ), I simply disabled the "new version of the page"-option in the browser.
Hopefully, they have addressed this issue in the newer versions of IE. (Although, I am very much open for a piece of advice from anybody, folks, if there are any other ways of doing it. Yours truly.)

      Thanks again, Patti.

I think IE sets it to "Automatically" by default. Curious that you would set it to "Never"... I set it to "Always" myself as I find page caching one of my biggest frustrations with the web, and yet can still hit the back button to get lost form data.

My recommendation: if you're typing something long into a textbox, stop before you hit the submit button. Highlight it and then copy it to your clipboard. That way, if anything goes pear-shaped you can just paste your text and try again.

I second Patti's suggestion. It's a trick I figured out years ago to save long posts from being lost (often due to being automatically logged out while taking the time to write such a lengthy entry). It's fast and it works.

I haven't ever experienced the problem you describe. I don't have anything set up in the browsers I use regarding "check for newer versions of stored pages".

    Thank folks,
Yes, I do exactly that. While turning off the "Automatically" option in IE takes care of the text loss, the checking if you are still signed in does not; so, I do something similar - right after I have typed all I wanted (the long ones), I copy everything into Word and let it check the spelling (hit F7 button on the keyboard), (you know, you are more probable to make type-o's in a long text than in a short reply). After that, I right-click any link ("Back" or "Home", or whatever), and choose either "Open in a new window" or "tab" - if that page opens with my icon still on, I hit submit, if not - I sign back in, in that same window, and then switch to the other one and hit submit.
